If I’ve inspired you to study the game of chess yourself, and you also hope to become a International Chess Grandmaster, then you must be prepared to work hard for title! There is plenty of competition when it comes to being a champion chess player. However, here are just a few tips which could help you to one day achieve your dreams…

Firstly, of course, you will need to master the basics of chess. This is the same for almost any game or sport, whether it be online Partypoker or a physical activities such as football and tennis. Learning the basics can seem tedious, but perfecting these skills can be the best way to give yourself a solid foundation before starting on more advanced techniques. Joining a chess club can be a good way to put the strategies used in chess into regular practice. You will also have the opportunity to play against a variety of opponents with different abilities. This can also be a good time to test various chess strategies — many of which you will be able to read about in chess books and online — as well as learn about endgame techniques…

Once you have reached a certain level, you can begin to take part in tournaments. This will give you a better experience of playing chess while under pressure, as well as giving you the opportunity to encounter players from other clubs. Remember to pay attention to the techniques which are used in every game — if you are beaten, then try and work out where you went wrong so that you might avoid making the same mistake again in future. Stay focused at all times and be prepared for the fact that some games of chess can last much longer than others.
